My Chemical Romance, the rock band with roots in Belleville, has claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with a special 20th anniversary edition of its iconic album, The Black Parade. Originally released on Sept. 12, 2006, The Black Parade followed the band's breakthrough album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. The deluxe anniversary edition, released Oct. 23, propelled My Chemical Romance to its first-ever No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. According to Billboard, it also marks the longest climb to the top of the chart in Billboard 200 history. The milestone comes as the band continues its Black Parade 2026 world tour, with dates scheduled across multiple countries. The expanded release includes material recorded during the original Black Parade sessions that had never been collected in a single package. The band also enlisted artist James Jean to create three new pieces of artwork for the anniversary edition. "Our hope is that you enjoy this collection of music and illustrations as much as we do, because we wanted to honor how timeless and enduring you've allowed it to be," the band wrote on its website.
