While New Jersey could see a few more very light showers or drizzle spiraling around the unraveling nor'easter this evening, the overall weather is about one thing: improvement.

Of the past 17 weekends, beginning with June, 15 of them have featured rain, either on a Saturday or Sunday.

Which day do you think had the most days with wet weather attached to it? If you said Sunday, you would be correct. Ten Sundays. Saturday wasn't far behind. Seven Saturdays had rain in them. Only two weekends were completely rain-free.

The weather this week will give New Jersey an opportunity to dry out and clean up. Fair weather will allow sunnier skies to prevail. The winds will not be gusty and will help bolster afternoon temperatures to reach into the mid- and upper 70s. A few degrees on the warmer side of seasonable.

The next chance for showers or storms. Can you guess? I'll give you a second. If you guessed this weekend, you would be right. It looks like that wet weekend weather streak will continue into October.
