The Community FoodBank of New Jersey and The Food Brigade teamed up in Clifton to distribute Thanksgiving food supplies to pantries across Passaic County.
More than 30 local pantries will receive Thanksgiving turkeys, hams and roaster chickens, along with holiday boxes filled with traditional Thanksgiving side dishes, for distribution to residents facing food insecurity, according to The Food Brigade.
"Food insecurity is a year-round problem, but I think around the holidays people feel it even more, when families gather and want to have a nice meal," said Elizabeth McCarthy, president and CEO of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
The event was held for the third consecutive year at The Food Brigade's Passaic County Community Food Security Center in Clifton.
