A 40-year-old man had died after becoming trapped in industrial equipment at a manufacturing and distribution plant in Sparta Township on Saturday, authorities said.

The incident happened at a facility on Houses Corner Road.

Responding police officers immediately began providing care to the man before he suffered a medical emergency while waiting to be taken to the hospital.

He was taken to Newton Medical Center, where he later died.
