Job seekers across New Jersey have new employment opportunities this week as a major regional discount retailer and a leading mental health provider recruit for seasonal, full-time and specialized health care positions.

Discount retailer Ocean State Job Lot is holding an all-stores hiring event on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at all 177 of its locations. As the company prepares for the upcoming holiday shopping surge, store managers are conducting walk-in interviews primarily for part-time temporary and seasonal roles. Permanent part-time, full-time and store leadership positions are also available, depending on each location’s needs. Applicants can attend in person or apply online beforehand.

At the same time, nonprofit health care provider Care Plus NJ is actively recruiting medical, clinical and peer support staff as it prepares to open a new 24/7 Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center in Paramus. The facility will serve as a voluntary, short-term alternative to hospital emergency rooms for adults experiencing acute mental health or substance use emergencies.

Care Plus NJ is filling a wide range of roles for the new facility, including therapists, registered nurses, psychiatric nurse practitioners, a part-time psychiatrist, behavioral health technicians, medical assistants and peer recovery specialists. Select positions at the new 24-hour center include sign-on bonuses.
