A mother and daughter found fatally shot inside a Montgomery Township home last week have been identified as 62-year-old Lora Grodnick and 24-year-old Sloane Grodnick, authorities said.
The medical examiner determined that both women died from gunshot wounds to the head and ruled their deaths homicides.
Authorities identified the man found dead in the home as 61-year-old David Grodnick, Lora’s husband and Sloane’s father. He died from a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a suicide.
Montgomery Township police were asked Thursday afternoon to check on the occupants of the Wild Azalea Lane home but were unable to contact them. Police began investigating their whereabouts and entered the home Friday evening.
Lora and Sloane Grodnick were found dead in separate bedrooms. David Grodnick was also found dead inside the home with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A firearm was found with him, authorities said.
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said investigators determined that the homicides were an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.
