A stuck drawbridge in Newark is disrupting NJ Transit service for the Friday commute.
The bridge, which connects Newark and Harrison, became stuck in the upright position Thursday afternoon.
The malfunction suspended service between Newark Broad Street and Hoboken stations in both directions and led to heavy crowds at the Secaucus station Thursday night.
NJ Transit says the Morris & Essex Lines, Gladstone Branch and Montclair-Boonton Line will operate on a weekday schedule Friday.
However, no trains will run between Dover and Hackettstown on the Morris & Essex Lines.
Service will also not operate between Montclair State University Station and Hackettstown on the Montclair-Boonton Line.
Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time and check for updates before heading out.
