After more than a decade, Jersey Mike’s Subs has overtaken Chick-fil-A as America’s favorite quick-service restaurant chain.
According to the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index Restaurant and Food Delivery Study, the Garden State-born sandwich shop ended the chicken giant’s 11-year reign over quick-service restaurants. With a score of 84 on the index, Jersey Mike’s edged past Chick-fil-A, which held a score of 83 and remained the leader in the chicken category.
The win for Jersey Mike’s comes after the company experienced significant growth in 2025, opening more than 200 new locations and reaching $4.2 billion in sales, according to the study. The survey credits the rise in rank to the fact that Jersey Mike’s “has maintained quality while scaling rapidly.”
The 2026 study was based on 16,464 surveys conducted via email between April 2025 and March 2026.
Jersey Mike’s was founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant Beach. Today, Jersey Mike’s has more than 4,000 locations open and under development, according to the chain’s website.
Known for its ad campaigns featuring New Jersey native Danny DeVito, Jersey Mike’s has also earned accolades for its charitable endeavors, including the annual Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving on the last Wednesday of March. During the event, 100% of sales are donated to a local charity. The campaign has raised more than $166 million since 2011.
