Nick Jonas set to headline New Jersey’s official 250th anniversary celebration at Rutgers
New Jersey is preparing for a major milestone celebration marking America’s 250th anniversary.
Officials have announced “Rev, White & Blue,” a large-scale event set for July 2 at SHI Stadium on the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick.
The celebration is part of the state’s official commemorations recognizing New Jersey’s role as the “Crossroads of the American Revolution.”
The event will feature a headline performance by Wyckoff native and singer-songwriter Nick Jonas.
The date holds special meaning, marking the 250th anniversary of New Jersey’s first constitution, adopted on July 2, 1776.
Festivities will begin earlier in the day along the Rutgers Boardwalk, where visitors can take part in interactive exhibits, historical tributes and family-friendly activities.
Organizers say the event is designed to highlight the state’s deep Revolutionary War history, noting New Jersey saw more battles than any other colony.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill says the celebration will showcase both the state’s past and its future.
“New Jersey was at the center of America’s founding, and now we are once again taking center stage,” she said.
Nick Jonas also expressed excitement about returning home for the event.
“New Jersey will always be home for me… I’m proud to celebrate right here in my home state,” he said.
While the event is free, tickets are required and available online starting June 17.
