There were no stadium lights or sold-out crowds - just the sound of pinball machines as Pearl Jam frontman Edie Vedder paid a surprise visit to Silverball Retro Arcade on the Asbury Park boardwalk. The popular arcade, which features dozens of colorful retro pinball machines, posted about the visit on social media Thursday. "Just another summer day in Asbury Park...until Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam stopped in to play a few games," the arcade said in a post. "One of the things we love most about this town - you never know who's going to walk through the door." Silverball is no stranger to celebrity visits. New Jersey's Bruce Springsteen is among the rock royalty that have stopped in to play some of the vintage games in the arcade. Actor Danny DeVito has also visited, as well as members of the band Southside Johnny, Fred Schneider of the B52’s, Dave “Snake” Sabo of Skid Row and previous New Jersey governors.
