An early morning house fire brought a heavy emergency response to Higgins Avenue, tearing through the front of a residence and extending into the upper levels before being brought under control.
Firefighters from the Lindenwold Fire Department rushed to the scene in Clementon at about 2 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy flames shooting from the front of the single-family home.
The fire quickly spread upward, extending into the second floor and the roof area. Recognizing the intensity of the flames and the need for relief crews, commanders on the scene struck a second alarm to bring in extra manpower from surrounding departments.
Crews battled the blaze for roughly an hour and a half, ultimately bringing the fire under control at about 3:30 a.m.
Officials confirmed that despite the significant damage to the structure, there were no injuries reported to civilians or responding firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
