Charges against a Florham Park police officer accused of stalking and assaulting a former police dispatcher have been dropped.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office said all charges against 34-year-old Gregory Dietz were dismissed after prosecutors determined there was insufficient evidence.
Investigators said the woman told them Dietz repeatedly contacted her and pursued a relationship.
The woman told investigators she considered the two to be nothing more than friends.
No additional information was immediately available.
