The Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office announced the arrest of a man connected to the 1990 murder of Lisa Marie McBride on Saturday.

The death of the 27-year-old has been a mystery since her remains were discovered decades ago.

Robert William McCaffrey Jr., 54, was arrested in Manteo, North Carolina, and is currently detained in Dare County.

McCaffrey is pending extradition to Sussex County, where he will be charged with murder, kidnapping and burglary.

Officials say the case was solved through advancements in DNA technology combined with the efforts of New Jersey State Police.

The department says more information is set to be released when available.
