A broken water pipe forced the evacuation of the Marriott Hotel in Saddle Brook on Saturday evening, authorities said.
The pipe broke on the eighth floor at about 6:30 p.m. and caused damage to an elevator shaft and the building’s fire suppression system, officials said.
The Saddle Brook Police Department, Saddle Brook Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene.
The hotel was evacuated at the direction of the fire chief as a precaution. Guests were evacuated and relocated to a nearby Marriott Hotel property in Paramus, police said.
No injuries were reported.
Hotel officials began an assessment of the damages and made necessary repairs, police said.
Marriott did not immediately respond to News 12's request for more information.
