A Tuesday afternoon residential fire heavily damaged a local home and temporarily displaced its residents, though all occupants and a family pet managed to escape safely.
Police say crews responded around 2:01 p.m. to a home on Brookline Court in the Clementon section of the township.
First responders arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the roof and flames shooting out of the garage.
Officials say everyone inside the home was able to get out safely before crews arrived.
There were initial concerns that a family dog was still inside, but emergency crews quickly confirmed the pet had also made it out unharmed.
Firefighters from Gloucester Township and surrounding departments worked together to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported among residents or first responders.
However, authorities say the home suffered significant fire and smoke damage, forcing the residents to leave temporarily. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
