One person is dead after an early Saturday morning fire in Neptune City.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said a home on Bennett Avenue between West Sylvania Avenue and Prospect Street caught fire.

Crews reported visible flames when they responded around 2:15 a.m.

An adult resident was found dead inside the home after crews contained the fire. Their identity has not been released as of Saturday evening.

The prosecutor's office stated that the fire is not suspicious in nature.

A cause of the fire was not immediately known.
