A Williamstown resident was found guilty of death by auto on Thursday for killing a man in a high-speed car crash.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office says 26-year-old Gabriel Woolson struck Evan Silverstein’s vehicle on South Black Horse Pike on Dec. 14, 2022.

The collision severed the car, sending the front half flying over 100 feet into the parking lot of a strip mall.

The 52-year-old victim was ejected and killed. His passenger was also injured, according to police.

Investigators say Woolson’s car reached a speed of 119 mph just before the crash. He also did not apply the brakes until about one second prior to impact.

In addition to death by auto, the judge also found him guilty of reckless driving and speeding.

He was found not guilty on a charge of assault by auto for the injury to Silverstein’s passenger.

Woolson faces a maximum of 10 years in state prison when sentenced on Aug. 21.
