A senior couple’s home went up in flames in South Bound Brook early Friday morning.

According to South Bound Brook Police Chief Douglass LaGrua, one of the two was taken to a local hospital. We’re awaiting word on the others condition.

A firefighter suffered a minor head injury but is expected to be OK.

The fire call came in around 4:00 a.m. The damaging fire appears to have forced a collapse of the upstairs into the downstairs part of the house.

The Somerset County Prosecutors Office is also involved in the investigation.
