Police are investigating a fatal altercation that claimed the life of a 35-year-old Millville man on Monday night

According to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s office, Millville Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of N. Second Street just before 9:00pm on Feb. 16.

Officers located Detyren Hatch suffering from serious injuries sustained during a physical altercation at the home.

Hatch was initially transported to Inspira Hospital in Vineland. Due to his serious injuries, he was later flown to Cooper Hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The Millville Police Department and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit have launched a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation. At this time, no arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing.
