Well, we've been talking about back to school stress for kids, but what about the parents? Reem Rauda is a parenting coach from Manalain. Thanks for being here with us today. Thank you for having me. All right, set us straight. What do we as parents need to know before school? I think we just all need to relax a little bit because school stress that's so easy, yeah, but you know, school stresses parents out so much some parents just get so involved and so worried and high. Expectations and that just translates to pressure on the child and pressure is what hurts them and just creates more anxiety for them more behavior at home so it's really becoming aware of your own pressure and anxiety yeah we've been talking about pressure, but what happens if you put your kids in a lot of activities is there such thing as too many? Absolutely most children are completely overscheduled and over. So not every day. Every day is a bad idea. So soccer, basketball, piano, language lessons, that, that's a little too much, too much, a million% too much, you know, a whole day at school is a lot, you know, that's 78 hours, um, so I would say a couple days a week and to stay home, to do nothing, to be bored is a gift to give your child. it is all right that's what I'm gonna say next time my kids are like, I'm bored it's fine to be bored. How about managing conflict? Maybe it's with a teacher, maybe it's with other students. What should we tell our kids in that sense? You know, our job is not to rescue them from every issue, right? School life is a teacher, so they are gonna have conflicts. They're not gonna like everybody they're gonna feel left out here and there and yes, be that. Person that they can come home and talk to but you don't have to fix and rescue everything let them go and let them learn you know even great parents get it wrong so is there something that maybe we're doing that's counterproductive and we we don't realize it? It's, it's making home a place that they need your approval as well and they need to perform for you and they need to prove to you that. They're doing well and that they're excelling all the time it's really watching the environment that you create at home and making it one that they can thrive in and that is one without pressure because they're getting so much of it at school that home needs to feel like a safe place. All right, so it's all on us. All right, thanks for that rerouted. Thank you for joining us here today for having me.
