Seasonal badges in Ortley Beach remain $50, with nearby towns including Seaside Heights, Lavallette and Mantoloking charging higher rates this summer.
Most visitors will need to pay to visit a New Jersey beach this summer, and beach badge sales are beginning across the Jersey Shore.
In the Ortley Beach section of Toms River, beach badge sales that were scheduled to begin April 1 have been delayed until April 20 due to circumstances outside the township's control, according to officials.
Township officials said they are extending the early-season discount by several weeks into June to make up for the delay, and prices will remain the same as last year.
Seasonal badges in Ortley Beach will cost $50. Daily badges will cost $11 on weekdays and $12 on weekends and holidays.
Officials noted that prices in Ortley Beach remain lower than in several surrounding towns.
Seasonal badges in Seaside Heights and Seaside Park will cost $75, while Lavallette will charge $60 for early-season purchases.
Mantoloking increased its prices this season after holding steady for three years. Early-season badges there will cost $130, rising to $145 after June 20.
