Maryland man sentenced for sending explicit images to NJ undercover agent posing as child
A Maryland man has been sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from sexually explicit online communications with an undercover investigator posing as a 13-year-old girl, Morris County prosecutors announced.
Cristobal Slobodzian, 38, of Hyattsville, Maryland, pleaded guilty March 30 to one count of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of obscenity. He was sentenced on June 26. Upon his release, Slobodzian will be subject to Megan's Law and parole supervision for life.
According to prosecutors, the investigation began in July 2025 when Slobodzian contacted someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl through a teen chat app. The person was actually an undercover agent with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Prosecutors said Slobodzian engaged in sexually explicit conversations and sent numerous images of his genitals.
Investigators identified Slobodzian as a resident of Prince George's County, Maryland. With assistance from the Prince George's County Police Department, members of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office executed a search warrant at his Hyattsville home on Nov. 12, 2025. He was later arrested, detained in Maryland and extradited to New Jersey.
