A man was struck by a vehicle at a city intersection Sunday night and later died from his injuries in Paterson.

Police responded around 8:22 p.m. to the intersection of Madison and Third avenues after reports of a pedestrian hit, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, arriving officers located an "unidentified male" and transported him to St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson. The pedestrian was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The prosecutor said the driver involved in the incident remained at the scene.
