As a nor’easter approached New Jersey a couple of weeks ago, Dr. Raisa Bakshiyev knew the flowers at Moonshot Farm in East Windsor might not survive the storm.

Dr. Bakshiyev loaded her car with bouquets and headed to JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in Edison.

There, the flowers found new homes in patient rooms.

“I wish you could have seen the smiles on their faces," said Dr. Bakshiyev.
