A new art installation in Wildwood Crest is turning trash into a powerful message about ocean conservation.
The “Love the Crest” sculpture is a giant heart made entirely from plastic debris collected along the local coastline.
The piece was created by a Trenton-based design studio, using materials that were once litter along the Jersey Shore. Now, the colorful sculpture is drawing the attention of visitors and has quickly become a popular photo spot.
But beyond the photos, the installation is designed to remind people of the impact plastic waste can have on oceans and marine life.
Organizers hope the display will encourage beachgoers to think twice about what they leave behind and do their part to keep the shoreline clean.
