A brazen jewelry store smash‑and‑grab carried out in the middle of the day was caught on video, leaving shattered windows and extensive damage at a Perth Amboy family business.
The robbery happened yesterday afternoon and unfolded in less than two minutes, with surveillance footage showing the suspects smashing their way into the store and stripping display cases.

Security video posted by SD Jewelry shows suspects breaking through the front window with sledgehammers.
Inside the store, video captures the suspects smashing displays and grabbing jewelry while the mother‑and‑daughter owners tried to fight them off.
Additional video from across the street shows the frantic moments as the suspects ran from the store carrying garbage bags filled with jewelry.
The suspects then got into a waiting BMW parked along Madison Avenue before speeding away.
Some bystanders are seen trying to stop the suspects from leaving before the car pulled off. Police chased the getaway vehicle out of town, but did not make any arrests.
Video posted from inside the store afterward shows shattered glass covering the floor and empty display cases lining the showroom. “They took everything from me…left me with nothing,” the owner can be heard saying.
The jewelry store closed this afternoon following the robbery.
Perth Amboy police said multiple suspects were involved, no weapons were displayed, and no injuries were reported.
