New Jersey State troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash along the south side of the Garden State Parkway within Washington Township along mile post 167.8 at approximately 4:18 p.m. Friday afternoon.
The preliminary investigation showed that the driver of the vehicle lost directional control and ran off the highway, traveling down the nearby grass, striking multiple trees.
The driver became airborne shortly after and struck a raised incline.
The driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
