A 22-year-old Englewood man has been extradited to New Jersey and charged in connection with a string of car burglaries and stolen credit card sprees across Teaneck and neighboring Bergen County communities.

Royer Moreno Cedeno was taken into custody in New York City by NYPD officers on July 16 and subsequently extradited to the Bergen County Corrections and Rehabilitation Center.

Investigators said the crime spree began in June 2026, targeting primarily unlocked vehicles during early morning hours in Teaneck and nearby towns. Cedeno allegedly stole cash, credit cards and other valuables left inside the vehicles.

Detectives later discovered that the stolen credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases at retail clothing stores in New York City. Through surveillance footage and a joint investigation involving multiple local law enforcement agencies, detectives identified Cedeno as the suspect.

Cedeno faces 18 criminal counts, including seven counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree theft, eight counts of fourth-degree credit card theft and one count of receiving a stolen credit card.

Teaneck police are urging residents who suspect their vehicles may have been unlawfully entered or tampered with to contact the department at 201-837-2600. Authorities also reminded the public to keep vehicles locked, remove all valuables from plain view and report suspicious activity promptly.
