A deputy attorney general in New Jersey is accused of creating and sharing child sexual abuse material using a popular online platform.
Authorities say 51-year-old Brian Fitzgerald, a deputy attorney general in the state's Attorney General's Office, was the subject of a search of his Pennsylvania home on Wednesday.
Investigators allege Fitzgerald used artificial intelligence and images of actual children to create and share the material through Discord.
A spokeswoman for the Office of the Attorney General released a statement saying, “Our office is aware of the charges that have been filed against an employee of the Division of Law. We are cooperating with our partners in the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and are taking appropriate action with respect to his employment.”
