As daylight saving time begins and most people prepare to adjust a handful of clocks, one Mercer County resident has a much bigger job ahead of her.

Melissa Davis, of Ewing, has spent decades collecting clocks, more than 100 of them, filling nearly every room of her home.

Davis said her collection began about 40 years ago with a single purchase at a flea market. What started as one small blue clock gradually turned into a decades-long hobby. Davis said she frequently visits flea markets, garage sales and secondhand stores, building a collection that now spans dozens of styles and eras.

“People say ‘your house is a museum. I love your house!’ Some people, I think, it overwhelms them because there’s so much,” she said.

The arrival of daylight saving time means Davis has to reset every clock in the house, a process she says takes time but is part of the enjoyment of collecting.

“I find it a bit therapeutic, just like to, you know, go around and change them,” she said.

Davis said the collection reflects her love of unique objects.

“I just like to find different things, interesting things, things that make me feel good when I look at them,” she said.
