Community members came together on Monday to leave a personal touch on a new St. Jude Dream Home under construction in Manasquan, writing messages of hope and appreciation across the floor before the house is completed and sold.
The 3,500-square-foot home will be listed on the market, with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The hospital supports children and families battling serious and often terminal illnesses.
The home was built through donations of finances, materials, labor and more. CMM Custom Homes, which led the project and built the home, said the home represents months of collaboration and generosity from across the community.
“This is really a culmination of an incredible amount of work from an incredible amount of people that have been just amazingly generous from the start. So it gives me a feeling of hope and an inspiration that we’re able to bring this home to market,” said Matthew Amato with Shire Realty and CCM.
Amato said the effort carries personal significance.
“My family, who owns CCM Construction and Shire Realty, lost our matriarch, my mom, a few years ago, and she was the charitable giving part of our family. She was always doing things for good causes. So we wanted to honor her life. And in doing that, we found the Saint Jude Dream Home program,” he said.
The home is expected to be listed for sale in April.
