Multiple first responders entered the water. A Wildwood police officer was able to assist three swimmers out of the water, but the 14-year-old remained missing. On Tuesday, Wildwood police were notified that a deceased individual was located just off the beach near the United States Coast Guard Training Center Cape May. Authorities later identified the individual as the missing teen and contacted the boy’s family. “Our sincere condolences are with the juvenile victim’s friends and family during this very difficult time,” Wildwood police said in a statement. “We also want to thank all the first responders who assisted with not only the initial rescue operations but also the recovery efforts.”
