A court authorize search warrant has led to an arrest of two people in connection with fraud, drugs and money laundering.
Hackensack police said they have arrested 39-year-old Asia Kelly and 37-year-old Wakimi Joseph after a search warrant was executed on their luxury apartment.
Detectives seized forty-eight United States Treasury checks with a value of more than $667,000 that were issued to other people and businesses. They also found debit and credit cards belonging to other people, fraudulent driver’s license, more than one hundred zip lock bags of cocaine packages for sale, legal drugs prescribed to other people, and more than $15,000 in suspected proceeds from criminal activity.
Both Asia and Wakimi were criminally charged with possession and with intent to distribute, second degree money laundering, receiving stolen property, identity theft and additional related charges. Additionally, Kelly was arrested for three outstanding warrants including one for Forgery in Massachusetts.
They were both processed and remain at the Bergen County Jail pending their first appearance at the Central Judicial Court.
