A Kia SUV caught on fire Saturday evening on the New Jersey Turnpike in Carteret, according to New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded at about 6:45 p.m. to the southbound outer roadway near milepost 95.5, police said.

The SUV was fully engulfed in flames when troopers arrived.

The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported at the scene.
