Some grocery store shelves are running low in Monmouth County as supply issues impact several Super Foodtown locations.
The problem is tied to a dispute with the stores’ primary grocery supplier, not store closures.
Atlantic Highlands officials say rumors that the stores are shutting down are not true.
A letter from the families who own the supermarkets, , also known as Circus, apologized to customers for what they called “unacceptable conditions” inside the stores.
They say they are working to resolve the issue and are confident the situation will improve soon.
One Super Foodtown location in Atlantic Highlands had not opened yet, but appeared to be preparing to operate with at least some available items.
Customers are being asked for patience as the stores work to restock shelves.
