At the Phoenix Open, a former Rutgers golfer won again Sunday, continuing a rise to stardom.

Chris Gotterup took the title on the first hole of a playoff against Hideki Matsuyama.

He surged up the leaderboard by closing with five birdies in six holes.

Gotterup is ranked first in the Fed Cup standings.
