An overnight crash temporarily shut down part of Route 1 before lanes reopened early this morning in Woodbridge, affecting traffic in Middlesex County.

Crews responded to the scene near Ford Avenue, where at least two vehicles were involved and were towed away as cleanup continued.

New video from the scene showed the damaged vehicles being removed as workers gathered cones and cleared the roadway.

Route 1 northbound was closed for a short stretch, with drivers detoured to Lafayette Avenue and then Ford Avenue before getting back on Route 1 or the Parkway.

Cleanup crews worked quickly, and Route 1 northbound has since reopened.

There has been no word on injuries.
