A man wanted for a fatal shooting in Puerto Rico has been arrested in New Jersey, authorities said.
Juan Alberto Bordonada-Laureano, 30, was taken into custody March 11 in Keasbey by members of the U.S. Marshals, working with the New Jersey State Police and Woodbridge Police Department.
Authorities said Bordonada-Laureano was wanted in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred in February.
Investigators with the Puerto Rico Police Department’s Arecibo Criminal Investigation Unit, along with the U.S. Marshals Puerto Rico Violent Fugitive Task Force, determined he had fled to New Jersey.
Officers located him at a residence in Keasbey and arrested him without incident, police said.
Bordonada-Laureano is being held at the Middlesex County Jail pending extradition to Puerto Rico.
