A pickup truck crashed into the outdoor dining area of a Taco Bell in Elmwood Park on Wednesday morning, damaging part of the restaurant and a nearby utility pole.
Police say a 70-year-old man from Lodi was behind the wheel when the truck struck the restaurant's outdoor dining overhang. Authorities say a medical emergency may have caused the crash.
The impact also damaged a utility pole and lighting equipment. The driver was taken to Hackensack Hospital.
