An Old Tappan man with a history of stalking offenses has been accused of using artificial intelligence to create and share fake nude images of two people.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office says 37-year-old Daniel Pfeiffer posted the fake photographs to social media alongside the victim’s real names.
Following a monthslong investigation, he was identified as the creator of the posts and arrested at his home on Oct. 22.
The charges against him include creation of deceptive visual media, distribution of deceptive visual media, invasion of privacy, cyber-harassment and harassment.
Prosecutors say he was remanded to Bergen County Jail pending hist first court appearance in Hackensack.
This is not Pfeiffer’s first run in with the law, according to police. He was charged with stalking in 2022 due to allegations he violated a permanent restraining order and posted sexually explicit images of a victim on social media.
