New Jersey is expected to receive $125 million as part of an opioid crisis settlement.

Purdue Pharma and its owner, the Sackler Family, reached a $7.4 billion settlement related to the crisis. The $125 million is New Jersey’s share.

The settlement ends nearly a decade of litigation over the company’s role in fueling the opioid epidemic.

The settlement also permanently bars the Sacklers from selling opioids in the United States.
