A 10-year-old girl who disappeared from West Philadelphia was found dead in the trunk of a car in Lindenwold, New Jersey.
MalayShia Allford was the subject of an intensive search after she disappeared. It's believed she was last seen alive Oct. 22.
Authorities say surveillance video from Oct. 26 appears to show a body being removed from a home.
"There was video that shows what we believe to be her body being moved out of the home," Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski said. "It was that video that then led law enforcement officials to a suspect vehicle."
Toczylowski said authorities located MalayShia in the trunk of that vehicle in New Jersey and that it was immediately apparent she had been there for some time.
MalayShia's foster mother, Caprice Williams, is charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and several related offenses.
A medical examiner determined MalayShia died from blunt force trauma.
