From "The Sopranos" to "Friday the 13th," New Jersey has been featured in some of Hollywood's biggest productions.
Now, a new state law is creating a statewide film trail, highlighting filming locations and giving visitors a chance to see them for themselves.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill signed the measure Sept. 9.
The trail will feature markers at selected locations, along with an interactive map highlighting filming sites and nearby attractions.
Visitors will also be able to suggest locations, while private homeowners can keep their properties off the trail.
The goal is to bring more visitors to New Jersey communities and support local businesses.
The initiative comes as the state continues investing in film production, including new studio developments in Newark and at Fort Monmouth.
