Linden police dispatcher Kimberly Matos has made a career of clear, effective and often empathetic communication.
The public servant has written a new children's book called "My Big Feelings."
The book is written for kids with special needs, and is meant to help readers learn how to understand and navigate their emotions.
In a Facebook post Matos described the book as "A safe space for children to write, draw, and express emotions—especially for those who struggle to speak their feelings."
From frustration and anxiety to joy and excitement, kids learn it's all part of life.
"Children don’t always know how to say what they feel… But their emotions are BIG, real, and important," the author posted on social media.
