A state grand jury has declined to file criminal charges against a Jersey City police sergeant in a fatal shooting that happened last year.

The Attorney General's Office says Steven Sanchez fired a compressed-air pistol at Sgt. Ricardo Reyes, who returned fire.

Sanchez later died.

After reviewing the evidence, the grand jury voted not to charge Reyes.
