The New York Giants Foundation is giving Hackensack Public Schools a $10,000 credit to purchase football equipment.

The Hackensack Board of Education voted Oct. 14 to accept the donation, according to the district's meeting agenda and a recording of the vote.

The award will be provided as an equipment credit through Riddell, rather than a cash payment. The district will also receive preferred pricing on football equipment purchased through the manufacturer.

The board authorized district administrators and the athletic director to coordinate purchases and arrange a ceremonial check presentation.

The resolution did not specify which equipment the district plans to purchase or when the presentation will take place.
