The Foo Fighters are proving one don’t need bots or big budgets to gets fans hyped up.
The legendary rock band sold out the Starland Ballroom Saturday night after offering fans the option to buy tickets in person only.
The band announced the limited-ticket sale earlier this week, requiring fans to line up at the venue on Thursday.
“People have to wait in line. No bots have a chance,” said long-time fan Dennis Grubel, who travelled from Germany to see the show. “It’s just a great giving-back thing for the fans.”
Tickets were sold on a first-come, first-served basis for $30 each, with a limit of two per person.
Several fans told News 12 they waited hours to purchase tickets. They arrived in the early hours of the morning on Thursday.
"This weekend is so special because tickets only $30, making it affordable for the everyday person," said Holly, a fan from Philadephia. "This reminds me when I used to go to concerts in the 80's and 90's, you would sleep out for tickets."
Many camped out again Friday night into Saturday morning to be first in line for the concert itself.
“They had us lined up behind the guardrail this time,” said Thomas Metz, from Mount Laurel. “After the parking lot closed, I sat there all night, all morning.”
The Foo Fighters also sold out Irving Plaza in New York City this week when the band also offered fans the same ticket deal.
