A bear cub made an unexpected appearance along I‑78 in Union Township and needed a helping hand from state police.
Troopers received a call Wednesday afternoon about a bear cub spotted in a roadside ditch.
Officers responded and were able to safely scoop up the cub.
The bear was taken back to the barracks before being turned over to the Department of Environmental Protection for care.
