Dozens of vehicles were vandalized in Union County early Tuesday morning, in a rash of overnight car damage, according to police.

Detectives say a single suspect is responsible for the vandalism to 19 vehicles between 3:30 and 4 a.m. in Linden.

They say the suspect is likely responsible for similar crimes in other parts of Linden, as well as across Union County.

Cranford police say they have taken seven criminal mischief reports involving vehicles having smashed windshields occurring overnight into early Tuesday.
