A 77-year-old Mays Landing woman has been convicted of murder in the 2024 killing of her domestic partner, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

A jury found Eileen Bright guilty Tuesday of first-degree murder and four weapons offenses.

Hamilton Township police found 81-year-old Gary Johnson dead inside a Mays Landing home on March 31, 2024, after a 911 caller reported that a man had died. Prosecutors said Johnson had multiple wounds to his head and body.

Evidence presented at trial showed Bright used a household statue and a kitchen knife to kill Johnson, according to prosecutors. The jury rejected her plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

Bright faces 30 years to life in prison when she is sentenced Oct. 27.
